Breaking the Chains

Do you constantly remind yourself of your shortcomings, mistakes, or failures? Are you adept at justifying why you can’t have, do, or be what it is that you truly want?

Maybe you’ve said the following to yourself:

“I don’t have the time.”
“My ______ (family/parents/spouse) doesn’t give me the grace to ______ (what you want).”
“I’m responsible for ______ and feel guilty for taking time away from ______.”

How long have you been saying these things to yourself? And how do you feel hearing these words, these stories? Those emotions likely stem from somewhere in your past. They’re old. They may not even be yours. They might be remnants of traumas (little “t” trauma) that you experienced as a child, adolescent, or teen that haunt you still.

Understanding the Roots of Self-Doubt

What’s lying under the story and emotions? How do they define you? Do you believe that you are “good enough“? Do you believe that you are worth ______? Do you accept yourself as you are – whole and complete?

No matter the stories, emotions, and beliefs, you have to know that you are worth taking care of. Your health and well-being are paramount not just for your life and future but also for those you love and who love you, and for the work you came here to do. They deserve you at your best, as do you.

Taking the First Step

Today, I encourage you to take one step towards what you’ve been denying yourself, what you’ve been putting off. That’s it. Just one step. When you do, feel how capable you are of walking through challenges or discomfort. Relish it. Bask in the good feeling of right-sizing a fear, frustration, or challenge.

And then when all is done, take another step. You’re worth every desire that the Divine has placed within you. The world needs men and women who unabashedly allow their desires to flourish within.

Embracing Your True Self

The world needs warriors, lovers, kings, and queens to expand what is known to what can be. By reclaiming your worth and taking those first steps, you not only honor yourself but also inspire those around you to do the same.

So, ask yourself today: What have I been putting off? What one step can I take towards my true desires? Remember, you are capable, worthy, and complete. The journey begins with a single step. Take it. The world is waiting for the best version of you.
